Crazy Time of Year

A belated Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! I have been MIA for the past week because I have been baking up a storm, working, and traveling. I am just glad that I got to go home for Christmas, even if it was for only 36hours. Time has flown by so quickly this year! I can't believe that it's approximately 274 days until I head out to Austria!! If time goes any faster I don't know if I'll be ready by then haha! I need to start making a list of what I want to take with me and what I think I'll need while I am over there. Maybe I won't come back, and just live the rest of my life there.. I can see it.. Wake up every morning seeing the Alps and living in a small town that actually has a bakery, butcher, drogerie, etc.. I can see it now.. Well I've got to quit daydreaming and get ready for the day.. Yay work haha..

Bis dann,

Weekend!

YAY!! Classes are finally done! Now it's time to study for finals.. Really I am only going to study for one final because my other two will be fairly simple. That is Art History I don't really care about because it has nothing to do with my major and I hate the class. Had it been about Western Art like Rembrandt, Monet, DaVinci etc I would have enjoyed it so much more. My German exam is going to be a cinch. It has been review all semester and the final is over the future tense. The one exam that I am going to study hardcore for is my Intro to Teaching a Foreign Language class. We can use notes and such but it's still going to kick my butt. I've got an A in the class right now but I have to do well to keep it at an A. Thankfully the class is getting together for a study session on Sunday. I wish that my boss wasn't making me work so much over the next week. 28 hours on top of finals and a crap ton of other things going on is CRAZY. Not only did they schedule me a ton but they are making me work in the Jewelry Dept. I no next to nothing about the Jewelry we sell. Oh well I'll get through it. I can't wait for Weihnachten und Skilaufen. I've never been skiing but it should be a funny sight to see..

Have a great weekend!!

Ending a Semester

So Fall Semester is quickly coming to an end. I can't believe that winter break is literally right around the coroner. To end the semester next week my friend and I are going skiing with her family for four days in Michigan. I have never been skiing before and I hope I don't break anything while attempting to stay on my feet.. Have I mentioned that I am a very accident prone person? However exams and numerous papers must come first. I can't wait for next semester to begin because I will officially begin getting ready to study abroad by taking a class that begins in March called, who would've thought, Intro to Studying Abroad. I won't however be taking any German classes :-(. I'm a bit upset about it, however I need to finish my minor before studying abroad.

Schnee macht alles gut!

Snow

The first snow of the season happened yesterday :-). It was just a dusting of snow but snow on the first day of December is always a great way to start the holiday season. I'm kind of sad that this is my last Christmas Holiday in the states and I won't really be able to celebrate very long with my family. Gotta love working retail and mangers who won't give you time off. Oh well I shall make it work. I can't wait to celebrate Weihnachten with my new study abroad family next year. What kind of traditions are out there that Americans may not follow or know about that are popular and celebrated in Europe?

297 Days and counting!

Great way to start the morning

Woke up this morning with every intention of watching a few shows and then going to class. But, that doesn't seem to be the case. I turned on my TV and my cable box is no longer authorized to provide service, oh joy. I am getting the standard channels so that is a plus, and I am working with the twitter help team to see what is going on. It's just not how I intended to spend my morning.

On the Plus side of everything only a few weeks left in this semester and then my real preparations for studying abroad begin! I am stoked and can't wait to meet everyone who will be over there studying as well. I just don't know how to pack two suitcases to last me an ENTIRE academic year abroad!! It's going to be interesting haha :-)

Well must be off to class.

Long Weekend

This has been an incredibly long weekend. I went through my first Black Friday shopping and working this year. I went out with a few friends to Old Navy and Walmart at Midnight to partake in the great deals. I can't believe people were willing to stand outside in the cold and rain for a video game.. I'm glad we stayed in the car and jammed to some "old" tunes. We got home around two and I had to work at six. I got like no sleep and then there wasn't a huge crowd at Meijer, so my manager did a good job of keeping all of us busy so we wouldn't fall asleep. The weekend is finally over and now I'm working on homework for this week. Oh yeah, I got my official acceptance letter from the study abroad program today!! I am so excited that it is finally official!

Happy Thanksgiving!

One of my favorite holidays is today (Christmas is my favorite by far). I am thankful for my loving friends and family. I wish that I could be with my family in Arkansas visiting everyone and enjoying delicious food and celebrating the last Thanksgiving in the States for a whole year... However I'm in rainy Bowling Green getting ready for work. I did get to spend the morning with a friend of mine and we celebrated with cinnamon rolls and apple juice haha. :-) I foresee, maybe, snagging some leftovers from my roommates dinner before heading to the midnight sale at Old Navy with friends. Gotta love Black Friday!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here We Go..

In a little over 300 days I'll be leaving for Austria. I'll be there for 9 months studying German and becoming fluent in the language so that I can be the best German Teacher possible. I am so incredibly excited for this time abroad and can't wait to go. I hope that this blog is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family while also helping me remember what all I have experienced. For the time leading up to my departure I'll be writing about what I am up to and preparations I'm taking to studying abroad.

So let's begin our journey to Salzburg, Austria!
