Well we are to The Final Countdown! So naturally one must go shopping for the necessities and for me that includes: New Clothes, Suitcase, Backpack, and other things.. I had a great day shopping, as always, it is a major stress reliever for me. Sometimes it doesn't end well for my bank account haha. I only made one major Ups (oops in english) today however. I thought my mom told me to find a suitcase and get it then she'd pay me back. So while I was at this fabulous outlet mall in Monroe, I found a great Samsonite suitcase. Little did I know that it was more than she wanted to pay for that particular suitcase.. Like I said Ups.. I did however get a great tote for free because the sales clerk was nice and I had spent like 45mins looking at ALL the luggage in the store. Other than that major Ups today was fairly successful. I got a new pair of shoes, a great Northface jacket at a fabulous price, a couple of shirts (I'm getting more tomorrow when my mom and I go shopping together before her business trip), and a great backpack with built-in laptop carrier from Vera Bradley.. Like I said I love shopping and this is all the shopping I'll be doing for a while haha. At least till it gets colder and I need a new winter coat and boots.
I can't believe that it is almost time to go! I watched the movie Taken the other day and I'm pretty sure that I shouldn't have watched it so close to going abroad. All I can say is I will not be that stupid haha.
Time seems to be stuck on fast forward! 5Days!!!!! AHH!

Besucherin und Planung
Wow, my how the time has FLOWN!!! I apologize for not keeping up with this blog over the summer, but I have been incredibly busy. Here is a recap of what has been going on stateside haha: Big family trip to Texas and return trip up through St Louis, Chicago, and Milwaukee and got to see two Red's games and a White Sox game. Then a Recruitment Workshop for my Sorority Phi Mu. Finally I bought my plane ticket to Munich and booked my Hostel in Salzburg.
Like I said it's been a crazy busy summer. Recently I have been doing a ton of planning and shopping preparing for the trip. The planning has brought along numerous mini panic attacks because I can't do certain things until the day before I leave. I took a look at my tickets today and noticed that I don't have much of a layover in Chicago or Heathrow, which I'm hoping will not be problematic. We also finally got our dorm assignments! I'm in Haus Humboldt which is a great dorm and everyone loves living there. I am really looking forward to this trip and starting my life in Salzburg.
As the title states Visitors and Planning, my grandparents from Texas are visiting for the next few days. I am so excited that we get to visit before I leave the country and my brother starts his freshman year at the University of Cincinnati. As for the Planning, I am always planning something for the trip.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the Hostel that I'm staying in the week leading up to my move in to the dorm plays the Sound of Music film daily and has a tour in which you can walk in Julie Andrews footsteps through Salzburg. I will totally be taking that tour and doing some touristy things when I get there.
Do you have any suggestions of things I should do while abroad??
Here's the link to the Hostel I'm staying at :-)

Der Tod eines Freund.
A friend of mine has passed away this morning. She was in a terrible car accident in January that led to her having extensive brain damage. She was showing improvement, moving, giving 'ok' signs to people, and working on her rehabilitation. I'm not sure what happened but complications can happen in these cases. She was as much of a nerd as I am and loved life. She is in a better place now laughing at all of us who are crying and mourning, thinking "Guys, I'm alright and you are too. Don't be sad get Glad". That's who this girl was and will remain to be in our hearts. As a fellow nerd and "mother" (I was her mom in our choir families when she was a sophomore in high school) I will leave with this quote:
"You can't win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
"The Force will be with you, always"

Rest in Peace Holly Reeves

Wo ist Mai gegangen?
Hallo jeder!!
Sorry for the delay in this post. I have been very busy working on getting things ready for my brothers graduation and celebrating my 21st birthday. Time has completely eluded me. I hope that your summer is going well. I have finally completed the housing and course worksheets for studying abroad. I plan on taking a geography course, language course, art course, and another which I can't quite remember haha. As for celebrating my 21st.. It was fun. I went back up to BG and had a night in with my good friends up there with a few drinks, movies, and a cookie cake I made. Then on Friday I met up with my long lost friends from high school and the four of us went out to some nice bars in the city and ended up at the Pub. The Pub is one of the coolest places I have ever been! The bartenders wear kilts haha! One of them was younger and really cute. That's besides the point, but the Pub looked like a legit Pub that you'd see in Europe. Made me wish to be there now.
Lot's going on this week, Senior Awards Banquets for my brother, my grandparents are driving up from Texas, my brother is graduating, and finally the long awaited Graduation Party! Woot!
Well, at the moment I am babysitting and it's about time for the little one to wake up. So I best be off.

Sommer!!!
Endlich!!
Summer is here! That means, Graduation Parties, Online German Course, Buying Plane Tickets to Austria, and Spending Time with the Family. I cannot believe that time has gone so quickly! It seems like only yesterday I was writing my first post explaining why I am doing this. I finally filled out all my paperwork that I have to turn in, dorm preferences, classes, etc. I have a feeling that this summer is going to go by so quickly that I'm not going to know where it went. Anybody know of any good deals for flights overseas??
Let me know!!

One More Week of Classes and One Week of Finals..
Hallo jedermann, I cannot believe that April has flown by as quickly as it has. Only one more week of classes and then finals. I am also in the midst of moving out of my apartment and moving back home. Let's just say that one of my roommates for the past 7 months has not been the nicest person out there. I never knew just how much my one room could hold. I've got so many boxes and bags. It makes me wonder how I am ever going to pack for Austria. What should I pack? What do I need? How do I bring enough clothes for all the seasons? What will I need for my room? I just cannot fathom how I will decide all of this. Well I've got some time to plan haha.
A lot of planning has also been happening for my upcoming time abroad. I found out that I need an Aufenhaltsbewilligung or Temporary Residence Permit. On the plus side to all the paperwork I get to take a trip to Chicago, which I've never visited. Anybody have a suggestion of what to see while in Chicago? I'm also in the midst of planning a trip to NYC to visit a friend. I'm going to be traveling so much this summer it's great! Back to studying abroad, we were given our options for dorms yesterday. I am so excited and can't wait to see who I'll be living with. Hopefully they won't be like one of my current roommates. I can only hope.
Well I must be off to work, which I have one more shift after today :-D
Hat ein schönes Wochenende und Ostern.

Meetings, Meetings, and More Meetings
Well the end of the school year quickly approaching and I can't wait for it to get here! Since the end of the year is coming so much is going on with the study abroad program. I have a meeting tonight that is supposed to "Prepare" us for the experience. I'm not entirely sure a meeting can prepare somebody for living in a new place and culture for that matter. It's also scholarship award season! I won a $1000 scholarship! I get $500 a semester while abroad. That'll almost pay for a one way plane ticket.
I know this is an incredibly short post but I've got to run to this meeting!!
